What Happened. I know that times have changed, but that’s no excuse. There was a time when it was OK for a mother to breastfeed without feeling ashamed or guilty that she is doing something wrong

Breastfeeding is a natural function between a Mother and Child. There should be no shame or guilt in it. Has our society swung so far to the right that its taboo for a mother to breastfeed. COME ON PEOPLE REALLY. Don’t get me wrong If a woman chooses not to breastfeed she has that right. By the same token if a woman chooses to breastfeed that too is her right.

For a newborn Breast Milk is a super food. A mother milk provides all the essentials a baby need for its first six months. The make-up of the milk will even change depending on what the baby needs are.

A majority of health experts recommend breastfeeding at least for the first six months. Some health experts go a step further recommending breastfeeding continue for the first year as new foods are added to the baby’s diet. My opinion is that a year is too long.

Studies have shown that starting around three to six months after delivery that women who breastfeed will lose more weight than mothers who don’t breastfeed. You must still remember that exercise and diet are still the most important factors of weight loss.
